Italia Squisita

As Director and D.O.P at ItaliaSquisita, I produced captivating documentaries about the world’s best food.

During my first year, we embarked on an exciting venture – the pasta series, a collection of films meticulously crafted to document the essence of excellence in Italian and international cuisine. Collaborating with Michelin-starred chefs, I had the privilege of delving into the artistry behind pasta, showcasing both the time-honored traditions and the gourmet reinterpretations of the most iconic Italian dishes.

This ambitious project is in parallel with a dedicated 2-part recipe book that encapsulates the essence of pasta. The book features the traditional recipes that have stood the test of time and provides insight into the gourmet variations conceived by the culinary visionaries with whom we have had the privilege to collaborate.

We also ventured into the world of sushi, with 4th generation Japanese sushi chef Katsu Nakaji.

The online magazine and YouTube channel just crossed 1+ million subscribers.

Warner Bros. Discovery, Play Sports Network

I worked as a senior creator/documentary filmmaker for WBD’s Global Cycling Network, the world’s biggest network of cycling dedicated channels, to design, produce, and output several pieces of content across 10 channels, the GCN app, and GCN+ originals.
I was on location and behind the production pipeline to ensure the delivery of 6 videos per week and collaborated daily with British, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Japanese creatives.
I played a key role in designing and strategizing the growth of GCN Italia and GCN Italia Racing, successfully expanding our audience from zero to over 400,000 combined followers across all platforms.

GCN+

GCN+ is the streaming home of the world’s most thrilling live bike races, exclusive shows, and epic cycling documentaries.
I wrote, directed, shot, and edited Ultracycling Across Italy, a documentary about a former pro cyclist riding 780km and 11.000m of elevation in 36h. The 30’ YouTube cut was on the trending chart for 7 days. The full-length documentary was later released on the GCN+ app.
I directed and was DOP on many shoots across France that brought retro cycling stories to life through the recreation of old stages and races. The infamous derny paced Lost Races: Bordeaux-Paris, utilizing footage of Jaques Anquetil from the 1960s, ridden by former pro cyclist Mitch Docker and his mate Sam Bewley. And 1969 - Following Merckx a film that recreates a brutal Tour de France stage from covering four of the toughest mountains in the Pyrenees. It was ridden by GCN’s lead presenter on a replica bicycle identical to Eddie’s.
I co-produced, co-directed, and shot The Columbus Story: The Soul of Cycling, a documentary telling the story of a 102-year-old brand that has transformed frame production into art while maintaining a strong brand identity. Mr. Colombo pioneered a new cycling era by gifting a bike to Apple’s founder Steve Jobs and collaborating with renowned artist Keith Haring on a set of iconic wheels.
I followed the entire production, from shooting to editing, of Legends: Ivan Basso, a film about the controversial story of a two-time Giro D’Italia winner.
I worked on the intro shots of Colnago: The Art of Bicycle Design, a film about Ernesto Colnago and his iconic bicycle manufacturing company.
Additionally, I directed a corporate film about the history of Pinarello, shot some sections of the Makers: Framebuilders series, and examined the inner workings of the German manufacturer Canyon.

GCN Tour de France content

I was sent to the Tour de France 2019 for a location shoot.
We released 2 dedicated TDF videos for Global Cycling Network and GCN Tech and 10+ tech-specific videos to be shared across all international teams.

GCN Italia and GCN Italia Racing

My main focus is ensuring the delivery of 6 pieces of content per week across GCN Italia and GCN Italia Racing while tracking the channel’s data and cycling trends to make sure the releases are in line with what the audience is keen to watch and what are the business objectives.
I’ve shot and edited over 150 videos, 5 to 30 minutes long, throughout the first year.

Red Hook Criterium presented by Rockstar Games

I joined RHC in 2015 and followed every single event as Head of Video since then.

I was responsible for all the video outputs of the event. From social media content to promotional and informative videos, trailers, interviews, and marketing pitches.

I worked closely with the creative director to define a tone of voice and make sure the visuals matched those of the specific event. I managed local teams in New York, London, Barcelona, and Milan to gather race and event footage for all the season’s edits.

I helped coordinate the recording and broadcasting of live video outputs.

RHC Sizzle Reel

This video was created to attract new sponsors and introduce the series to future investors showing the action and thrill of the event as well as the festival-like feel that attracted thousands of spectators and athletes.

RHC 2017 Series INTRO

In 2017, working closely with creative director Jonah Birns, we created an intro piece to be used in broadcasts and as the event’s presentation.

HNTB

Between 2018 and 2019 I worked closely with Creative Directors Armand Kabarec and Jon Hayward to create an award-winning campaign about HNTB employees and culture with the goal of attracting new talent.

The series won multiple prizes at the Marketing Communications awards by SMPS.

I also took care of all of the post-production.

Consulting and post-production were entirely done remotely.

UEFA Champions League

In 2015 I had the opportunity to work with Uefa during the Champions League final in Milan.
I directed and co-edited a timelapse-based video that showed an entire month of work to build the needed infrastructure in San Siro Stadio.

The piece was broadcasted internationally before the event but is unfortunately under strict rights regulations.
Below is an extract from the video.
